Parents and Carers

Establishing a good partnership with parents and carers is a priority for everyone here at Carrfield Primary Academy. We firmly believe that a successful school is a result of the combined efforts of staff, children and parents and we encourage you to take an active role in your children’s education. We aim to be as transparent and open as possible in all we do and we welcome any questions or suggestions that you might have about your child or about Carrfield Primary Academy in general. We will work hard to ensure that we communicate regularly with parents and carers and that you are always up-to-date with our activities and our plans for the future.

However, whilst it is important that we keep in mind the importance that parents/carers can get quick answers to any questions or concerns that they have, we have to balance this against the workload and well-being of our staff. School has a Communications Policy that we ask parents/carers to be aware of and to follow. Outside of school hours, there is no expectation on any of our staff to respond to queries/concerns unless they are happy to do so and school encourages staff to not turn notifications on for their emails or other communication methods.

We always encourage parents to support their child’s learning outside school and want to build a close and positive relationship with you. We also have a Safeguarding and Families Officer (Mrs. Ramsbottom) who works to help children and their parents overcome barriers to learning which may be affecting their well-being and participation in school life. She can also help parents with worries which may be causing concern with their child’s education or behaviour. You can come along and chat in complete confidence with Mrs. Ramsbottom most mornings. While we may not have all the answers, we firmly believe we can work together to find them.
