School Meals

Latest Dinner Menus can be found here: April – October 2023 Dinner Menus

Our school lunches are excellent, and children can choose from a variety of different options.

Universal Infant Free School Meals – all KS1 children are entitled to receive a free school meal at lunchtime.  We hope you will encourage your child to take a healthy, nutritious meal with us at lunchtime.  KS2 children are still required to pay for meals using the “My Child At School” app unless the child qualifies for Free School Meals. You can apply to Barnsley Council for free school meals at the following link: https://www.barnsley.gov.uk/services/children-families-and-education/schools-and-learning/free-school-meals/

Should your child not wish to stay for school lunch, we ask that you provide a healthy packed lunch in a suitable container with your child’s name on. Water or fruit juice should be provided in a suitable container. Fizzy pop is not permitted.  We would appreciate your support by discouraging children from bringing sweets and chocolate to school in their lunch boxes.

Dinner monies should be paid on your Child’s Parent Pay account – for the current charges for these, please speak to the school office. Children staying for dinner are not allowed off school premises during the lunch break.

We encourage all parents who qualify to receive free school meals to apply for these. This will ensure that the school receives the correct amount of funding for your child.

Drinks

Children should have a fresh bottle of water in school every day. Facilities are available in school where children can refill them at lunchtime and playtimes. Please do not fill water bottles with juice.
