Today we are celebrating Mitzvah Day in school. This year’s concept phrase is common good. If you could please show the attached Power Point and discuss with children the following questions:
- What is Mitzvah and why is it important?
- Recognise on different ways that they can support the common good by doing good deeds.
- How does it feel when you do a good deed for somebody? How does it feel when somebody does something nice for you?
- How can we all work together to play a part in looking after each other? Why is that particularly important now?
At the end of power point there are some ideas of kind acts that the children can do at home, you can take pictures of them and send them to me, but the main thing I would like them to do is a GET-WELL card for patients that are in hospital at the minute. My plan was to make these cards in school, and then deliver them to Mexborough Hospital. It would be nice if we still managed to do the cards and then I can collect them off you, once we’re all back in school.
I will get in touch later through the day with work for the rest of the week, and I will see some of you later for Parents Evening.
Hope you have a great day,
